New Year Reset | 2024 Goals

I can’t believe it’s already December, the final month of the year. 2023 was a huge year for me & my family! The biggest life change being becoming a new mom to my sweet baby boy, Crew. Now that I have almost 8 months of motherhood under my belt, I am hoping to bring more order/routine back into my life in 2024.

I always love the month of January because I enjoy the “fresh start” feeling it brings after a busy holiday season. I know, I know - you do not have to wait for a new year, month, or even a Monday to begin making changes; however, for me, it can bring a new sense of motivation and discipline!

One thing I really want to focus on in 2024 is decluttering/simplifying. I find when my space is cluttered, it is easy for me to become overwhelmed and when I am overwhelmed, I have a really hard time staying present in the moment. Another area I want to focus on more is my health - both physically and mentally. I started working out more consistently in August after being cleared by my doctor and I noticed a HUGE change in how I felt. My husband can attest - I am a much happier person when I have some endorphins flowing. I want to continue that in the new year! My ultimate goal would be to start getting up earlier and working out in the AM, but… we will see about that one. Finally, I am excited to use this blog as a creative outlet. Currently if someone were to ask my hobbies I would say drinking iced coffee from home. So now I can say drinking iced coffee from home and word-vomitting my thoughts on the internet. Anyways, cheers to a new year! Now let’s get into it:

2023 Reflection

What did I accomplish this year? Freakin’ growing/birthing/keeping alive a human being!!

How was I feeling this year? Why? Extremely grateful (with a side of overwhelm). Learning to navigate motherhood for the first time can be tough, but I have never felt so much love or joy than I have since the birth of my son.

What events happened this year? Crew was born! (as you can see, this was a HUGE life event this year)

List 3 things you learned this year.

1) Time really is a thief!

2) I thrive on routine/order

3) You will never regret prioritizing your health

What can I do better this next year? Managing my stress in healthier ways - ie. communicating better, working out/eating healthier, getting more sleep (when I can), being more organized/planning ahead etc.
